06/07/2009 - Winnipeg, MB (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers extended the contract of safety Ian Logan on Sunday.

Per team policy, details of the contract were not disclosed.

Logan finished 2008 as the starting safety and recorded 38 defensive tackles, 19 special teams tackles and two sacks.

"We're very pleased to extend the contract of a solid Canadian safety like Ian Logan," said head coach Mike Kelly.

Originally signed by Winnipeg as a free agent in January, 2006, Logan has appeared in 47 regular season games in the CFL, all with the Bombers.

The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
